Ignos to Take the Stage in Houston: – Small and Norwegian, but with Great Results

When Impact 2025 opens in Houston, Texas, in October, Norwegian Ignos will be on stage with Framo. Framo is a world-leading pump manufacturer headquartered in Bergen and is now part of the Alfa Laval Group, with deliveries to the marine, oil and gas, and aquaculture industries, among others. CTO Rolf Thu is looking forward to showing how industrial technology, combined with a focus on people, provides concrete benefits in production.
Impact is one of the world’s leading conferences for industrial digitization and artificial intelligence, organized by Cognite. Here, companies from all over the world meet to share experiences, build networks and showcase solutions that create measurable value.
The conference brings together international heavyweights such as ExxonMobil, Microsoft, and Aker BP. For Ignos, the invitation means gaining a place in a global community with some of the world’s leading industrial companies.
– It’s great to be invited into the big leagues in Houston and share the stage with some of the world’s largest industrial companies, explains Chief Technology Officer, Rolf Thu.
– We are small and Norwegian, but we have a good story: Technology that makes everyday life easier in the factory – and that delivers measurable impact.
Together with Framo
On stage, Rolf Thu will share the presentation with Inge Hellebø from Framo. Inge Hellebø will talk about their experience of the collaboration, the value the solutions have provided, and why they chose Ignos as a partner.
The customer story is about how Ignos’ apps have simplified the working day on the factory floor. The applications Engage (Operator Interface for ERP), Move (Logistics and Tracking) and Pulse (Factory Heartbeat) connect operators, ERP systems and production data. The result is fewer clicks, better overview and faster material flow.
Framo can document the effect in numbers: Better utilization of the machines and savings in the millions.
– Framo has seen a radical improvement in efficiency. When one of the factories sees more than a 30 percent increase in machine utilization, we are talking about tens of millions in gains.
From Data Chaos to Value
The story of Ignos is also about the journey from data chaos to control. Previously, production was characterized by fragmented systems and unused data. Now, companies have a platform where information is collected and available.
– Many companies previously drowned in data without benefiting from it. Now we have control and can use the information to create real value for our customers, Thu emphasizes.
Networking and Learning
Although the presentation will be a highlight, Ignos is also traveling to learn. The conference brings together companies from all over the world and provides a unique opportunity to gather inspiration.
– It will be exciting to hear how other large companies think. Our experience at Ignos is that you can achieve much of the same with far more targeted use of resources, points out the CTO.
Ignos has already arranged meetings in Houston with other large companies. The goal is to meet both manufacturers and partners who want to get more out of people and machines – and who want to build a bridge between the control room and the factory floor.
A Larger Mission
For Thu, the journey is also about something more than technology. He points to culture and the view of people as a key.
– When operators get good tools, both quality and pace improve. That’s where the ROI comes from. We want to uplift people in production – that is a value in itself, but also a business benefit .
The Road Ahead
After several years of projects in Norway, the ambition is international.
– We see that the challenges are the same in many countries – a shortage of skilled workers and a need for smarter production. Therefore, the timing is good for us to look beyond Norway, Thu concludes.
